UPS Healthcare continues to expand

Ireland has long been an attractive market for US nationals and corporations. Now, UPS has announced that it will build a new facility for the handling of healthcare goods.

The site is located in Dublin and expected to be operational by the end of 2023. It will provide almost 6,000 sqm of space for medical products and initially create 30 jobs.

Since 80% of all pharmaceutical products within the European Union require logistics support for cold chain and temperature-controlled transports, the new building will be furnished with the necessary equipment to meet these requirements.

UPS Healthcare is also opening a new location in Giessen in Germany, with over 24,600 sqm of space and more than 30,000 pallet spaces.

When UPS closes its acquisition of the Bomi Group, which runs temperature-controlled facilities in 14 countries in Europe and Latin America, in 2023, it will have more than doubled the footprint of its facilities since 2020. (sh)
