UPS creates position President Supply Chain Solutions
Philippe Gilbert is joining UPS as president, supply chain solutions this month (January). He will also become a member of the company’s management committee, the company’s senior most leadership group. Gilbert will be based at the company’s global headquarters in Atlanta GA (USA), and report to UPS COO Jim Barber.
Gilbert’s supply chain role is a newly created position. He assumes responsibility for global logistics and distribution, global freight forwarding and UPS Freight, as well as the technology-driven truckload freight brokerage business.
Most recently, Gilbert served as the Miami FL-based regional CEO of the Americas for DB Schenker Logistics. There he led air, ocean, and land logistics in the USA, Canada, and eight countries in Latin America. Prior to that, he was regional CEO for West Europe from 2013 to 2015, based in Paris. (mw)
