UPS announces CFO succession plan
Richard Peretz, UPS CFO, plans to retire. Brian Newman, currently executive vice president, finance and operations, Latin America for PepsiCo, has been appointed UPS CFO, effective 16 September 2019.
Newman will join the UPS management committee, the most senior leadership team. Peretz will remain with the company until December 2019 to assist Newman in ensuring a smooth transition period. “I am very pleased to welcome Newman to UPS’s senior management team,” said David Abney, UPS chairman and CEO. “His deep knowledge of finance and broad cross-functional experience will be a great asset as we continue our transformation."
Abney added: "On behalf of the company and the entire board of directors, I thank Peretz for his commitment and substantial contributions to UPS. His leadership and guidance helped the company achieve a strong financial and operational performance. It is therefore in a good position to meet the challenges of the future." (mw)
