Upgrade for Sweden’s largest vehicle gateway
The port of Gothenburg has awarded a twelve-year concession to Wallenius Wilhelmsen to manage its vehicle and ro-ro terminal, starting in February 2026.
The new operator, selected after a competitive procurement process, plans to invest nearly EUR 6 million in modernising the terminal’s infrastructure. Gothenburg, Sweden’s largest vehicle port, handled 267,000 vehicles in 2023, which accounts for 37% of the Swedish market.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen aims to enhance the terminal’s efficiency and sustainability, contributing to the port’s ambition to be the world’s most competitive port. (pb)
