Unifeeder's green fleet grows
Unifeeder Group, a DP World company, has finalised a new deal for two additional methanol-capable container feeder vessels, following an earlier agreement for two ships. The 1,250 teu vessels are set for delivery in 2026, to be deployed in Unifeeder's European network. Unifeeder will charter the vessels from Elbdeich Reederei and MPC Container Ships.
This move aligns with Unifeeder’s commitment to greener shipping solutions, focusing on reducing emissions and enhancing fuel efficiency.
Jesper Kristensen, Unifeeder Group CEO, confirmed his company's aim to reduce emissions by 25% by 2030, reaching net-zero by 2050. The investment in these vessels supports Unifeeder's broader decarbonisation plan and DP World's goal to reduce its carbon footprint. (pb)
