Ukrzaliznytsia: first trucks to Poland by rail
Trucks shift to rail to avoid the blockage caused by Polish carriers that have been on strike at the Ukrainian-Polish border since 6 November 2023.
The Ukrainian Railways worked on the truck transport project for two weeks. The first train, which was completed last week, carried 23 platforms, with 13 tractors with semi-trailers loaded on them. The train ran from Sknyliv (Ukraine) to Slawkow (Poland), where the trucks completed the final lap of their journey by road.
Customs and border clearance of the cargo took place at the railway border crossing Izov – Hrubeshiv. Currently, experts are working on the remaining formal issues to to speed up the crossing of the Polish border.
