UK: Maritime Intermodal officially launched
Following a recent long-term agreement between DB Cargo UK and Maritime Transport to increase railfreight capacity, “Maritime Intermodal” was launched at a celebration event in West Yorkshire (UK).
Over 120 rail, logistics and retail professionals gathered at Wakefield Europort in Castleford to see the unveiling of two DB Cargo Class 66 locomotives liveried in Maritime colours and given the names “Maritime Intermodal One and Two”.
Three locomotive services will run daily from Southampton to intermodal freight terminals in Tamworth, Trafford Park and Wakefield, and one from Felixstowe to Wakefield. (ben)
