UK fund manager acquires ASL Aviation
Star Capital Partnership has reached agreement with ASL Holding's shareholders, Compagnie Maritime Belge (51%) and 3P Air Freighters (49%), to acquire a 100% stake in ASL Aviation Holdings. The latter acquired the airline operations of TNT Express in 2016. The financial terms of the deal are confidential.
Headquartered in Dublin, seven ASL's airlines - ASL Airlines Ireland, ASL Airlines Belgium, ASL Airlines France, ASL Airlines Hungary, K-Mile Asia (Thailand), FlySafair and Safair (both South Africa) - operate scheduled and charter flights under their own brands and operate passenger and cargo (564,222 t) networks on behalf of international customers including express freight integrators and passenger airlines.
The group has 2,500 staff from 47 nationalities and a fleet of 130 aircraft. (ah)
