UK-Belgian partnership
The road division of British group Europa and Transuniverse Forwarding in Belgium are launching a new groupage partnership. Based in Wondelgem, Transuniverse, which has a turnover of GBP 72 million, Transuniverse provides road haulage services to 43 forwarding destinations in Europe.
The partnership will offer a driver-accompanied round trip model several times per day, including customs handling in UK and Belgium.
Europa used to have its own office in Belgium, but opted for a strategic change towards ‘best in class’ local partners already back in the 1990s.
Last year, Europa opened its own customs operation in Belgium, to facilitate its newly launched FLOW product for trailers arriving via Belgium as well as via France. That division now has a team of six customs declarants, alongside the Group’s head of customs. (sh)
