UAL going ever further west
Netherlands-based Universal Africa Lines (UAL) is expanding into the Caribbean. Given the recent developments in the oil and gas industry in Trinidad, Guyana and Suriname, the company is witnessing an increased demand for direct shipping services to that area.
UAL is therefore introducing a direct liner service between northwest Europe and the Caribbean and the north coast of South America. This new monthly service will be operated by two multi-purpose vessels, both equipped with 2 x 60 t gear which can be combined to hoist 120 t. Regular scheduled loading will be done in Belgium and the UK.
The main destinations are Trinidad, Guyana and Suriname, Saint Martin, Guadeloupe, Dominica and Martinique. Other ports in the area, as well as those en route, will be added on an inducement basis. (kd)
