UAE carriers upgrade cargo capacities
As Emirates ground crews around the world bid farewell to their last operating flights back to Dubai last week (pictured Prague), the Dubai-based air cargo carrier which is concentrating its entire operations to DXB, has unveiled a new schedule of "cargo-only" flights on Emirates' B777 fleet of passenger aircraft, offering up to 40 t of lower deck cargo capacity per flight. These flights will supplement cargo capacity offered on Skycargo's freighter services.
Etihad Cargo from UAE neighbour Abu Dhabi also continues to play a vital role in connecting key cargo markets.
To complement its fleet of B777F, the carrier is introducing a fleet of B787-10 as passenger freighters to operate 34 weekly flights, serving ten markets initially. Each aircraft will provide capacity for up to 45 t of payload. (ah)
