U-Freight ready to become RACSF
With the start of the phased implementation of 100% air cargo security screening, the U-Freight Group says that it is well placed to assist shippers since it has become one of the first freight forwarders to have one of its logistics hubs in Hong Kong certified by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) as a regulated air cargo screening facility (RACSF).
The enhancement of international standards on air cargo security announced by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) commenced on 1 January 2020, requiring the screening of 25% of cargoes (by weight).
The project will be implemented in phases. To complement the anticipated gradual increase in screening demand, Hong Kong’s CAD developed the RACSF scheme to enable and regulate air cargo screening at off-airport locations. (ah)
