Two new terminals in Deendayal
Green light for an extension project in Deendayal Port (formerly Kandla Port, India): a private-public partnership will invest approximately USD 720 million in two deep-water terminals in the gateway, 450 nautical miles north of Mumbai.
One of the terminals will have an annual container capacity of 2.19 million teu, the other will be a multipurpose facility. The government concession will run for 30 years, extendable by 20 years.
The facilities will be able to handle ULCVs of up to 21,000 teu and vessels of up to 210,000 dwt with 18 m draughts. (sh)
