Two more eco-friendly mega vessels


Orient Overseas Container Line has put two new 24,188 teu mega vessels, "OOCL Finland" and "OOCL Sweden," into service, marking a milestone in the company's fleet upgrade. With these additions, the carrier has received ten eco-friendly mega containerships of the same model, built by Dalian Cosco KHI Ship Engineering (Dacks) and Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering (Nacks).

 

The vessels will serve the Asia-Europe service LL1, with a port rotation including Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Singapore, Cape of Good Hope, Felixstowe, Zeebrugge, Gdansk, Wilhelmshaven, and back along the same route.

 

“OOCL Finland” was named by Ms. Tang Li, CEO of Keeco Asia Group, and began its maiden voyage in Xiamen on 10 May 2024. “OOCL Sweden” was named by Ms. Chen Ying, independent director of Orient Overseas (International) Limited, with its maiden arrival in Shanghai on 2 June 2024. (pb)
