Two long trucks instead of three conventional vehicles
In Czechia, Dachser deploys two long trucks for its daily service between the subsidiaries in Ostrava and Brno. One long truck can accommodate two trailers with room for 104 pallets. By using the two trucks, the company increases the capacity on this connection by 40%. At the same time, the two long trucks replace the previous three vehicles per day.
In other countries in Europe, Germany, Sweden and Spain, for instance, Dachser also relies on the long truck. Its deployment is restricted by regulations that vary from one country to the next.
Currently, the company is not planning to use these vehicles for cross-border services. In Czechia, the length of a truck combination is limited to 25.25 m and the maximum permitted weight is 48 t. (ben)
