Two firsts for MOL
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has embarked on its first industrial real estate project in Australia and acquired interests in eleven hubs in the country. Located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, the sites involve both existing and newly developed properties.
They offer ample floor space and ceiling height specifications, and sometimes even temperature control and advanced storage systems. The project is in partnership with a local subsidiary of Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corp., which will manage the fund behind these facilities.
Elsewhere, MOL has also become the first Japanese board member of the “Book and Claim Community”, an initiative aimed at decabornising fuels in logistics. In the community, customers can book the carbon reduction value of a vessel with decarbonised fuel in the system and then have this value transferred and claimed by other vessels. (mk)
