Two appointments in Jaxport
Florida-based Jaxport is extending its management team for safety and procurement. Maritime purchasing professional Lisa Gee becomes director of procurement services. She will be in charge of the port’s purchasing programme and also oversee Jaxport’s small and emerging business (SEB) programme, promoting the inclusion of small businesses in capital and procurement contracts.
Gee most recently served as director of fleet services for Tote Services, overseeing the organisation’s corporate purchasing, supply chain services and vessel crewing responsibilities through the Seafarers International Union (SIU) and the American Maritime Officers (AMO) union.
Retired Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) director Derrick Lewis was appointed director of public safety and security. From now on, he will direct all emergency management and preparedness services and also be responsible for ensuring the enforcement of seaport security initiatives in compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
