Twelve weeks between Hong Kong and Pittsburgh
Cathay Pacific Airways has launched a temporary expansion of its cargo operations in the Americas, linking Pittsburgh International (PIT) with Southeast Asia and supplementing its existing network of 19 cargo stations throughout the Americas, including East Coast services to Boston, New York (EWR) and Washington (IAD), and a dedicated freighter port at New York (JFK).
The first arrival touched down on 21 September 2020, carrying consumer goods from Asia. The service with a reconfigured B777-300ER originates in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), stops at the carrier's Hong Kong hub and lands in PIT every Monday and Thursday until 26 November.
PIT CEO Christina Cassotis: "Our speed, efficiency and ideal location offer a unique benefit for carriers and freight forwarders looking to serve the North America market." (ah)
