Turkish Cargo to start operating from new hub
Turkish Cargo is to carry out its cargo operations via passenger flights at a temporary satellite facility, "which is completely satisfactory in terms of infrastructure at Istanbul airport", as of 6 April 2019. Maindeck operations will continue to be carried out at the existing cargo terminal at Ataturk airport until construction of the new mega cargo facility is completed.
Now preparing to maintain operations as a dual hub, the carrier has a capacity to handle 4 million t of cargo annually in its cargo terminal that will have an indoor area of 300,000 sqm once all phases of Istanbul airport are completed.
With its investments and expanding fleet, the Turkish carrier is taking concrete steps towards its aim of becoming one of the industry's top five brands. (ah)
