Turkish Cargo joins "Koalition" for Yani
Turkish Cargo has safely transported a koala from Hong Kong to the UK. Born in Australia and introduced to Ocean Park in 2015, Yani was left alone after the other koalas she lived with at the park passed away.
Since she could not be returned to her original home due to South Australia's biosecurity regulations, it was decided that the most suitable place for Yani to continue her life would be the Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire, which last year welcomed the first birth of a southern koala in Europe.
With meticulous planning for every detail of the operation, Turkish Cargo flew Yani via Istanbul, in accordance with Iata LAR. After arriving in the UK, Yani was placed in quarantine and, after passing all the necessary health checks, was introduced to her new companions. (ah)
