Turkish Cargo carries one of every 20 air shipments
According to May data published by the air cargo analyst WACD (World Air Cargo Data), Turkish Cargo increased its market share to 5%, whereas the global air cargo market has shrunk by 28.5%. During the course of the pandemic, the industry was affected potently and decreased by 18% between January and May, but Turkish Cargo did not experience any loss of tonnage on yoy basis, and acted as a global bridge for the purpose of preventing the interruption of the international supply chain.
The carrier provided service to 90 direct cargo destinations by means of its freighters with high-tonnage capacity, and made use of 32 Turkish Airlines wide-body aircraft which performed air cargo operations to more than 60 destinations, including Casablanca, Bangkok, Doha, London, Moscow, New York, Oslo and Shanghai.
