Turkish Airlines touches down in Strasbourg
From today (31 May 2019), Turkish Airlines is operating a new route to France, with the introduction of a four flights per week Istanbul - Strasbourg service. The carrier will initially deploy a mix of A319/321 and B737-800 aircraft. Winter season flights will be exclusively operated with a B737-800/-900ER.
Most of Strasbourg airport's freight is initially transported by lorry to the main European airports, where it is loaded onto planes to continue its onward journey.
The airport handling the most traffic in Eastern France is Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse, with a total of 62,850 t of airfreight in 2018 (-2.2% year-on-year), according to the European trade body ACI Europe. (ah)
