Tunisair: engineer comes to the rescue
Olfa Hamdi is the new president and chair of the board at Tunisair. This was announced by Tunisia’s ministry for transport and logistics on 4 January 2021, after the previous candidate to lead the North African country’s national carrier, Wassef Ayadi, who was appointed last October, rejected the post.
Hamdi is co-founder and CEO of Concord Project Technologies in California. She holds a master’s degree in mechanics and engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Lille and a master’s degree in management of major industrial projects from the University of Texas in Austin.
Hamdi's name had been mentioned during negotiations on the forming of a government after the 2019 elections, and, according to the Business News journal, she was also proposed as head of the ministry of foreign affairs. (amh)
