Trucks to link Zhuhai and Hong Kong via Macau
Nippon Express has launched a cross-border transport service connecting Zhuhai and Hong Kong by truck via the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB).
Due to the spread of Covid-19 infections, severe traffic restrictions are still in place between Shenzhen and Hong Kong in southern China, and transport delays have become the norm for cross-border overland transport, Nippon Express said. The forwarder has therefore developed a new overland transport route via the HZMB as a BCP solution.
Cargo from China is consolidated and sorted at a Nippon Express warehouse in Zhuhai, transhipped to double-licenced trucks at a cross-docking facility in Zhuhai, and then transported via the HZMB to Hong Kong International Airport or designated delivery destinations. (ben)
