Truck charging hub opens in Antwerp port area
The charging hub enables the use of electric heavy-duty vehicles and thus contributes to the green corridor initiative between the ports of Antwerp and Bruges. It is located at the truck parking lot Ketenis and equipped with ten combined charging system (CCS) chargers, powering twenty bays with up to 400 kW of power per bay. The project marks a significant milestone for Milence, as it is its first hub in Belgium and its largest in Europe.
A second hub at the truck parking lot Goordijk, with five CCS chargers powering ten bays, is scheduled to open later this year. A swift transition to megawatt charging systems (MCS) for both sites is planned as soon as the technology becomes available. Milence is a joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton, and Volvo. (ben)
