Trois-Rivières and Montreal: three projects
As part of the collaboration agreement signed in late 2018 that aims to improve respective or shared port services, the ports of Montreal and Trois-Rivières have announced three new projects: the implementation of a common extranet portal to manage vessel arrivals, the harmonisation of practices and procedures, and the implementation of a common access card for workers and visitors.
In 2020, the Canadian Port of Trois-Rivières handled a total of 3.3 million t of cargo. While this is a decrease from the record year of 2019, which set a new handling record of 4.2 million t of cargo, it is in line with the average of the last five years and the port's projections.
2.9 million t of dry bulk traffic represented 85% of the total tonnage, liquid bulk with 300,000 t, 10%, and general cargo with 170,000 t, 5%. All in all, 209 vessels docked at the port. (cd)
