Trio acquires UK software provider
The three freight forwarders Davies Turner, the Cardinal Partnership, and Woodland Group are joining forces to acquire Forward Computers, a UK-based freight software provider, and creating a holding company to this effect. The latter two have previously been clients of Forward Computers, while Davies Turner has also been interested in the company’s products to enhance its existing systems.
Since its rebranding in 2021, it has traded under the name Forward Solutions and offers freight management and digital logistics solutions.
“The development will likely result in an increase in the number of staff employed by Forward Computers, which will remain headquartered in Nottingham, whilst having no negative impact on the existing IT structures of the three joint venture partners,” says Christopher Hewlett, CEO of Freight Software Group, which acquired Forward Computers in 2019.
