Transport association seeks new chairman
Torsten Westphal has resigned as chairman of the not-profit transport association Allianz pro Schiene. Before that, he had already retired from his position as chairman of the trade union for train and transport (EVG) for personal reasons.
"We regret Wesphal's resignation and thank him for his strong commitment during the unfortunately short time in which he served as our honorary chairman," said Matthias Kurzeck, deputy chairman of Allianz pro Schiene.
The association's statutes stipulate that its chairman must also hold the leadership function of the member association he or she represents. Therefore, if this function no longer applies, the chairmanship of the Allianz pro Schiene also falls vacant. The members of the Allianz pro Schiene will elect a new chairman on 26 November 2020. (mw)
