Transmec grows in Mediterranean intermodal field
The Transmec Group has acquired Servizio Trasporti Combinati (STC), an Italian specialist for land-sea intermodal transport between Europe and North Africa. With this takeover, Transmec now boasts an even more extensive and efficient network connecting Europe and the Maghreb states. The merging of forces brings together a fleet of over 1,500 vehicles dedicated to these markets.
STC was founded 1981 in Genoa. Over the years, it has developed a network of connections, progressively expanding into Tunisia, Morocco and France. STC owns a fleet of 550 semi-trailers, including curtain-sided units, box trailers, flatbeds, and reefer units and provides full-load and groupage services. (ben)
