Transload rail park opens for business
The US short line rail road Aberdeen Carolina and Western Railway (ACWR) has opened the Midland Logistics Park in Cabarrus County, NC.
The cargo handling yard can accommodate 175+ railcars for the transloading, storing, distribution of raw materials and finished goods. The location will have the space and equipment to handle a broad range of transloading operations, including bulk and truck self-transload. The development is equipped with a central scale house operation for use by all the tenants.
ACWR is the largest privately held regional freight railroad in North Carolina that connects with both CSX and Norfolk Southern national rail networks. Its lines run from Charlotte towards Raleigh, and extend south towards Pinehurst. (ben)
