Transit time cut by up to 76%
A successful premiere: a load of fresh fruit safely arrived in Moscow as the first export from Pakistan to Russia under TIR regulations. The truck, carrying fresh mangos, travelled from Pakistan to Russia via Iran and Azerbaijan, delivering the goods to Moscow in seven days.
Conducted jointly by Pakistani and Iranian operators, i.e. logistics company Crown 3PL Service and Iran Pooyesh Khorasan International Transportation, it demonstrated the first seamless transport from Pakistan to Russia along the international north south transport corridor, the International Road Union (IRU) said.
The TIR journey cut transit time by up to 76% in comparison to the traditional sea route. (ben)
