Transforming AWB data capture and comparison
Currently, over 60 million air waybills (AWBs) are being typed and compared by hand. "A2Z Scan" now aims to reduce the average human error rate and generate time savings of up to 80% by digitalising the processing of paper AWBs.
The software was designed by Champ Cargosystems and Metamaze to enable airlines and ground handlers to bypass this manual labour, by uploading digital AWBs to a dedicated AI scanner, which turns the image into text and compares the data.
The system automatically looks up any corresponding AWB data in a CMS and automates the comparison between the two. It then highlights any discrepancies for manual adjustments.
From these adjustments, the AI software compiles new information which it can apply to future AWB scans, reducing the need for future manual corrections. (ah)
