Transfesa's entire fleet to run silently by 2024
Transfesa Logistics is going to install low-noise brake blocks on wagons running in the Iberian Peninsula. The company has a total fleet of 2,662 wagons, of which the international units have already been fitted with low-noise brake blocks. With this project, to be carried out in 2024, noise reduction systems will be installed on the remaining 606 wagons, which are deployed in peninsular traffic.
With its entire fleet adapted in this way, the company will achieve a major milestone in its environmental strategy, as it will significantly reduce the noise pollution emitted by its traffic and wagons. This project, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU - will subsidise the installation that is estimated to cost EUR 163,152.64. (ben)
