Trans-Siberian test run for Japanese reefer goods
Russian Railways (RZD), the Japanese transport ministry and Fesco have sent the first refrigerated containers with Japanese cargo to Europe on the Trans-Siberian Railway, with the transport carried out by Dalreftrans.
With the new train the three players are implementing a joint pilot project to ship goods from Japan in refrigerated containers. The boxes from the Japanese cities of Toyama and Kobe were delivered to the port of Vladivostok by Fesco’s marine services, where they were dispatched for St Petersburg as part of the regular Fesco train. There the loads are delivered by sea to Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. (ben)
