Trains haul Russian timber to China
Russian Railways Logistics (RDZL) has launched regular container train services to transport timber from Russia to China. The second train, loaded with 62 40 ft containers, has just reached its destination in Mongolia.
The timber from the Krasnojarsk region is first picked up by truck at various Russian manufacturers and then brought to the loading stations Krasnojarsk and Bazaikha, where the cargo is lifted onto the trains.
RZDL also organises the necessary shipping and accompanying documents for the transport and pays for the cargo loads on the route via Russia and Mongolia to the Chinese frontier. The next timber train is scheduled for October 2021, RZDL said. (ben)
