Trade Tech to boost customs capabilities
Trade Tech has named Mike Cooney senior systems analyst for customs entry, strengthening its regulatory expertise.
Cooney brings over 30 years of experience with CBP with him and was instrumental in shaping the ‘automated commercial environment’ (ACE). His appointment supports Trade Tech’s strategy to streamline customs processes for forwarders and logistics providers. The initiative is led by Sharon Chandler, director of global customs compliance solutions, who continues to expand the firm’s digital customs capabilities.
Cooney’s background will help align duty classification with security filings, enabling clearance during transit instead of after arrival. Trade Tech’s enhanced approach aims to reduce delays and improve supply chain efficiency through early data capture and integrated solutions. (ah)
