Trade Tech preparing UAE cargo security rules
Trade Tech is preparing for compliance with the UAE’s new ‘Maritime Pre-Load Cargo Information’ (MPCI) programme, which takes effect on 25 July, as the company has reported.
The regulation requires electronic cargo data submission at least 24 hours before vessel loading at origin ports. The regulation applies to all UAE-bound transit, transhipment, import and stay-on-board cargo.
Bryn Heimbeck (pictured), president and co-founder of Trade Tech, sees this as part of a broader global trend. “Governments worldwide are prioritizing supply chain security, and pre-loading cargo filings are becoming the standard in international trade.”
According to Trade Tech the company is well-positioned to support customers through the transition, with its experience in regulatory frameworks such as the EU’s ‘Import Control System 2’ (ICS2) and the USA’s ‘Importer Security Filing’. (js)
