Towards a greener Baltic Sea

Ports of Stockholm, the port of Turku, and Viking Line have joined forces to establish a green shipping corridor between Turku and Stockholm, aiming to eliminate fossil fuel usage by 2035 at the latest.

With the MOU, signed on 6 February, the partners agree to create a greenhouse gas emissions-free corridor. The initiative aligns with the Clydebank declaration and precedes the EU's “fit for 55” strategy timeline.

The partnership underscores the commitment of all parties to environmental sustainability and will serve as a platform for developing scalable solutions to replace fossil fuels in shipping. (pb) www.portsofstockholm.com
