Torrestir joins European network
The Portuguese company Torrestir, which among other things can rely on a fleet of about 1,600 company-owned trucks including drivers, will join the European network Cargo Line in its own country as from February 2023.
In return, the owner-operated company will use the network of the general cargo cooperation for the distribution of its shipments in Europe. To this end, import and export transport services will be provided between six German Cargo Line partners and Torrestir’s locations in Porto and Lisbon several times a week.
Bernd Höppner, managing director international of the general cargo cooperation, emphasised Torrestir's "profound transport and warehousing expertise in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and automotive."
Torrestir Transitários, which was founded in 1962, generated around EUR 235 million in turnover in 2021. The company has 2,700 employees at 16 locations in Portugal, Spain, Mozambique and Germany. (sh)
