TIR: double profit for Pakistani forwarder
A new TIR route has been opened between Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It covers a significant portion of the international north-south transport corridor, which stretches from Russia to India, and leads through Azerbaijan and the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas.
According to the International Road Union (IRU), this new intermodal TIR route has reduced transit times vy at least 50% and cut costs by a 15%, compared to the traditional routes.
Pakistani freight forwarder Crown 3PL Services now regularly transports goods under TIR using this route and is benefiting from time reductions of up to 20 days. (ben)
