Timocom notes greater use of exchange platform
Timocom, a provider of an electronic marketplace for the transport sector, continues to expand. Sales jumped by 10% or EUR 6.7 million to EUR 74.6 million last year, and the number of users who used the IT platform to handle their transport requirements rose to a record 130,000. The German company now has around 43,000 clients.
Timocom’s spokesman Gunnar Gburek said: "The move from a transport platform to a system platform is bearing fruit."
The company’s route optimisation and vehicle location applications were frequently used: 32.7 million routes were calculated and 133'295 loaded trucks were tracked. The freight exchange application, the company’s cornerstone, found even more favour in 2018; the number of freight and truck space offers vaulted to 93.9 million. (mw)
