TIIR celebrates the 300th container train
The jubilee train was sent from the Kazakhstan-China terminal in Xi'an (China) along the Trans-Caspian international transport route (TIIR) to Azerbaijan. The dispatch was organised in cooperation with the key partners of the route - ADY Express (Azerbaijan) and Xi'an Free Trade Port (China).
Last year, eleven container trains transited through the TIIR, which is part of the so-called Middle Corridor of the New Silk Route. This year, however, more than 27,000 containers in 20’ equivalent have been shipped from China along this route to date, which is 25 times more than in 2023, Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) said. (ben)
