Tightening the reins in road haulage
Joining forces for fair competition: in Germany, the BGL (federal association of road Haulage, logistics and waste disposal) and Balm (federal logistics and mobility office) are working together to ensure the consistent enforcement of fair competitive conditions in road haulage.
According to Balm, drivers are to be reported if violations of driving and rest times are discovered during traffic controls and focus checks. For its part, the BGL wants to cooperate closely with the monitoring authorities, particularly when cracking down on moonlighting and illegal employment in the forwarding, transport, and logistics industry.
