Tigers expands into new Rotterdam warehouse
Supply chain specialist Tigers has expanded into a newly built 50,'000 sqm omnichannel fulfilment facility in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, offering sustainable e-commerce products and low-cost last mile B2B and B2C solutions across Europe.
The carbon neutral warehouse has 60,000 pallet positions, 550,000 bin locations, and has been equipped with solar panels and energy-efficient LED lighting. “We are seeing explosive growth in our B2C business, whilst B2B volumes have contracted during the lockdown,” said Shahar Ayash, Tigers’ regional managing director, Europe.
E-commerce already represents over 50% of Tigers’ business in Rotterdam, a key European hub for the Hong Kong-headquartered logistics operator. The new facility, located 10 km from the port of Rotterdam, is road and rail-connected and is part of the ongoing expansion of Tigers’ e-commerce fulfilment business. (mw)
