Three's a company
Austrian heavy-lift and construction haulier Felbermayr Group and German provider Haeger & Schmidt Logistics have joined forces with Belgium-based PSA Antwerp to invest in the terminal operator PSA Breakbulk NV, which will be run as a joint venture.
Coil Terminal NV, in which PSA Breakbulk already had a stake, will continue to operate as part of the joint venture under the name of PSA Breakbulk NV. The closely intertwined terminal operators are both major steel hubs. The official start date for the joint venture is 14 July 2021.
The parties involved will jointly invest in the necessary equipment and organisation on the Churchill dock, where PSA Breakbulk is located. Besides breakbulk, the joint commitment also applies to project cargo and heavy lift in the port of Antwerp.
Jan Van Mossevelde, MD PSA Antwerp, commented: "We are very excited about this partnership with Felbermayr, one of Europe's prominent heavy lift transport and crane specialists. Over time, we will create a drop-off area for the chemical and petrochemical sectors for heavy lift items." (sh)
