Three gigantic cranes for Port of Antwerp-Bruges

A EUR 200 million expansion plan is underway at DP World’s Gateway in Antwerp (Belgium), marking a milestone in the terminal’s ambitious modernisation plan.

Three gigantic container cranes will be built in the Port of Antwerp-Burges as part of programme which has been supported by the European Commission since 2019.

The crane park can simultaneously handle the largest container ships in the world, which can transport up to 24,000 containers (teu). With the greening and capacity expansion of the terminal, the port is staying on track in its strategy to become a “global trade hub and gateway to Europe”, said Dirk Van den Bosch, CEO, DP World Antwerp Gateway.
