Three Airbus freighters to join Asian fleet
Teleport, the logistics venture of Capital A (formerly the AirAsia Group) has announced the expansion of its fleet with the addition of three Airbus A321 freighters, each capable of carrying 27 t of cargo.
They will be leased from the BBAM Limited Partnership (BBAM), delivered in stages starting in Q1/2023 and operated by AirAsia, and will increase Teleport’s cargo-only fleet to four freighters. On top of this it has exclusive access to the belly-holds of more than 200 AirAsia passenger aircraft.
Teleport CEO Pete Chareonwongsak said that “it’s a timely move on our part to complement our exclusive AirAsia passenger belly capacities with a freighter network to reinforce our increased capacity in key markets such as China and India. E-commerce remains the main force propelling air cargo growth in the region.” (ah)
