Third month of the year, three old "Combi" jumbos
AMS has been exclusively retained to remarket three B747-400 aircraft, serial numbers 28459, 28460 and 30454. The CF6-powered aircraft were manufactured in 1997, 1999 and 2000, respectively.
The three B747-400Ms, which can accommodate seven pallets on the main deck behind 268 passengers via a large cargo door on the left side, were KLM's last jumbo jets. The Dutch airline parted with them permanently in October 2020, after reactivating them briefly at the beginning of the Corona pandemic.
Even after that, they did not go to the scrapyard. Two of them went to the charter airline Longtail Aviation from Bermuda and its subsidiary Jet One X, which operated them as freighters until May 2022. Boeing produced only 61 of the combi model. (ah)
