Third market for Amazon Air
Amazon Air is now high up in the clouds in India. The group is the first e-commerce company in the country to establish its own dedicated air cargo network to fly across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. It provides the cargo capacity of two Boeing 737-800 aircraft at present, operated by Quikjet Cargo Airlines.
India is the third market, after USA and Europe, for Amazon Air. The airline was launched in 2016 in USA and operates an air cargo network that has grown to include over 110 aircraft across 70 destinations worldwide. In India, Amazon's fulfilment centres currently cover 15 states, with sortation facilities in 19 states. (sh)
