Third Euro Dual to upgrade fleet
Following a recently signed agreement, the Swiss leasing company European Loc Pool (ELP) will deliver the third Euro Dual locomotive to the transport company Belog to further modernise its fleet.
The locomotive, made by Stadler Rail, will be delivered by the end of 2023, and will primarily be deployed on routes from Central Germany to Southern Germany.
With the dual-mode technology, the company can operate the locomotive independently on the first and last mile without having to rely on third-party services.
The Euro Dual can carry up to 35% more load than pure diesel or electric locomotives. This means an additional capacity of 840 t or roughly 30 saved truck trips, Belog said. (ben)
